Signs That Indicate That You Might Have Sleep Apnea

Posted on

It is really important to make sure that you are seeking out medical assistance if you even simply suspect that you have sleep apnea. This way, if you are given the sleep tests and it is found that you do have it, you can begin to receive sleep apnea treatment very soon. Once you begin to receive treatment, you should find that you are going to feel a lot better since you will finally be getting a full night of uninterrupted rest and plenty of oxygen throughout the night. Of course, you need to know what signs to keep an eye out for so you will know when it is time to consult with an ENT specialist. Here are some of the signs that you will want to look out for.

You Never Feel Rested

If you have started to feel as though you are never well rested, despite getting plenty of sleep, you might have sleep apnea. When you have this sleeping disorder, you are not getting a solid night of sleep. You might not be entering all stages of sleep and you may not be getting anywhere near the amount of oxygen you need during the night.

You Snore At Night

If you snore, you may have sleep apnea. There is a blockage that is causing you to end up with a lack of oxygen and that same blockage causing the snoring sound. In order to find out if you snore, you will need to ask someone that has been around you while you slept. If there is no one like that that you can ask, you can always set up a voice recorder to record during the night while you sleep. You can then play back the audio the next day in order to see if you snore at all.

Now that you are a little more versed in the signs of possible sleep apnea, you are going to want to make sure that you are making note of any signs that you think that you might have. Ask your partner, a parent, or anyone that has been near you when you sleep if you snore and if it has ever seemed as though you have stopped breathing at any point during the night. Do make sure that you are scheduling an appointment to see a doctor about getting tested for sleep apnea. If you do have sleep apnea, you will need to get treatment right away so you can start feeling like your old self again.
